How to get there

The Tribunal building is a three-storey grey building located on Rowntree Street, near the corner of Rowntree Street and Darling Street, Balmain. The building is the old Bijou Theatre, on the opposite side of Darling Street to the Balmain Post Office, across the intersection from the Town Hall Hotel, and opposite the milk bar. The building and parking is clearly marked on Rowntree Street.

By car: Road access into Balmain is from Victoria Road via Mullens Street, Evans Street or Darling Street. Access into the building is on Rowntree Street. For people attending a hearing, there is limited parking under the building. Where it is not possible to park in the building, there is coin-operated meter parking on the streets nearby.

By public transport: There are a number of bus services (link at end of page) into Balmain. The main bus routes from the Queen Victoria Building in the city are across the Anzac Bridge (441, 442), or through Glebe (432, 433, 434). There is also a bus from Canterbury through Leichhardt to Balmain (445). Alight at the Balmain Post Office bus stop whichever route you take.

You can also catch a ferry (link at end of page) from Circular Quay to Balmain East Wharf (1.7 kilometres from the Guardianship Tribunal). The reception area and hearing rooms are on Level 3 of the building. There is parking and wheelchair access for people attending hearings.
