We all prefer to make our own decisions about our personal lives and our finances. But what happens if we become unable to make those decisions for ourselves? We may lose our capacity to make decisions due to illness or injury.
While you cannot stop illness or accidents happening, you can decide now who should make decisions for you if you were to lose your mental capacity.
The law in NSW provides two ways in which people can plan ahead for their own future by appointing:
