You can decide for yourself who will be your guardian or financial manager

We all prefer to make our own decisions about our personal lives and our finances. But what happens if we become unable to make those decisions for ourselves? We may lose our capacity to make decisions because of an illness or after an accident.

While you cannot stop illness or accidents happening, you can decide now who should make decisions for you if you were to lose your mental capacity.

The law in NSW provides two ways in which people can plan ahead for their own future by appointing:
